OUR STORY

In 1983, Tony and Herta(HB) Peju purchased thirty acres in the famed Rutherford district of the Napa Valley. They worked hard to build a winery, plant estate vineyards and raise their family. They remain family-owned, with their two daughters, Ariana and Lisa guiding the business today. Ariana and Lisa are bringing fresh innovation while maintaining the meticulous focus on quality that began over 35 years ago. With its landmark tower and warm hospitality, PEJU Winery is an integral part of the Napa Valley landscape.

VINEYARDS

We believe that great wines are made in the vineyard and we are committed to farming sustainably and naturally to preserve these properties for the long term. All six of our estate vineyards are certified Fish Friendly and five of our estate-grown vineyards contribute to the richness of this wine; Persephone, Tess, Rutherford, Oak Knoll and Red Goose.

VINTAGE

The beginning of the 2019 growing season in Napa Valley was defined by copious rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The lengthy and relatively mild finish to the season, not without its moments of unpredictability, helped to preserve eshness and finesse in the uit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins.

TASTING & DETAILS

This gorgeous wine greets the nose with fragrant aromas of dried Mission figs and hints of thyme. The flavors that follow include berry compote, red cherry, vanilla, light brown sugar and hints of cocoa. It’s a bright, juicy wine with many layers and soft supple tannins that lead to an elegant finish.
